Going Back in Time
Our story began with the imaginative spark of a young dinosaur enthusiast, the grandson of our hotel owner. When asked about his dream addition to the hotel’s petting farm, he boldly proclaimed: dinosaurs! Undeterred by the absence of these ancient giants in Kilkenny, our quest began in early 2022 to bring dinosaurs to our park.
What started with the idea of adding just one large dinosaur model quickly evolved into something much more magnificent. Through extensive research and dedication, we proudly unveiled six life-size animatronic dinosaurs, sourced from over 10,000 miles away in China. In June 2022, these majestic creatures arrived in Ireland, captivating hearts with their lifelike movements and mighty roars. Since then, Jurassic Newpark has flourished, doubling in size within a mere year and a half.
Today, our park stands as a testament to imagination and innovation, enchanting visitors of all ages with thrilling attractions and prehistoric marvels. With each passing day, we continue to expand, adding more dinosaurs and attractions to ensure an unforgettable experience for our guests.
But Jurassic Newpark is more than just a destination—it’s a community cornerstone. With over 80 animals at our animal farm and a team of 50 dedicated individuals, we’ve become an integral part of the local community. We’re proud sponsors of the Kilkenny Stars basketball junior team and the Freebooters ladies soccer team, fostering a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie both on and off the field.
