T-Rex
T-Rex was a meat-eater and was at the top of the food chain. It was quick and chased its prey easily. Its huge jaws and powerful, clawed legs were its lethal weapons.
Brachiosaurus
The Brachiosaurus dinosaur lived about 150 –154 million years ago. Brachiosaurus fed on coniferous trees. Adults had to eat up to 400 kilograms (880 pounds) of dry plant matter every day.
Triceratops
Triceratops lived about 65 million to 145 million years ago. The lifespan of the Triceratops is currently unknown. Part of what makes Triceratops such a recognizable dinosaur is the enormous size of its skull.
Pterodactylus
A relatively early member of the Pterosaur family, Pterodactylus is also the animal that gave this strange group of reptiles their nickname of Pterodactyls.
Oviraptor
This dinosaur has perhaps the most unwarranted reputation out of any. Oviraptors actually didn’t specialise in eating anything in particular, and were what we call a generalist feeder.
Carnotaurus
A famously ferocious dinosaur that likely had a temper befitting of its name. Carnotaurus was a flesh-eating meat eater that walked on two legs, or a theropod, as all meat-eating dinosaurs are called.
Dimetrodon
Believe it or not, Dimetrodon is not a dinosaur! It lived before the dinosaurs even existed, in a time called the Permian.
Dilophosaurus
One of the earliest of the large predatory dinosaurs. One of the earliest of the large predatory dinosaurs, the dilophosaurus was once known to be just as deadly as the t-rex although they were long before the t-rex time living approx. 195 million years ago.
Troodon
Some species were known to inhabit colder regions way up north,and since these places can remain dark for months at a time during harsh winters, Troodon evolved large eyes that gave it excellent night vision.
Quetzalcoatlus
This terror had a beak long enough to snatch small to medium sized dinosaurs from the undergrowth, and a neck wide enough to swallow them whole.
Megaraptor
An animal so fearsome that it inspired the designs of a number of fictional dinosaurs seen in movies. Megaraptor was not a hybrid, but a real predator that terrorised the plains of South America.
Spinosaurus
The largest of all carnivorous dinosaurs, Spinosaurus was a predator even longer than T-rex, albeit a very different one. It had lots of strange features, from its long, crocodilian snout to its bizarre sail.
Velociraptor
The Velociraptor lived about 71–75 million years ago. Believed to live approximately 15–20 years. Adult Velociraptors grew up to 2 meters long, 0.5 meter tall at the hip and weighed up to 33 lbs.
Rhea
Rheas are large, flightless birds with grey-brown plumage, long legs and long necks, similar to an ostrich.
Chicken
Did you know that chickens can see more colours than humans do? Chickens are able to distinguish colours. They also see ultraviolet light and iridescent hues. Their world looks more colourful than ours.
Peacock
The peacock, or peafowl, is a medium-sized colourful bird belonging to the pheasant family. The peacock is the national bird of India.
Emu
The emu is the second-largest living bird by height, after its relative, the ostrich. It is endemic to Australia where it is the largest native bird.
Goose
A goose is a bird of any of several waterfowl species in the family Anatidae. Goose is actually the term for female geese, male geese are called ganders. A group of geese on land or in water are a gaggle, while in the air they are called a skein.
Llama
Llamas are social animals and live with others as a herd. They are extremely curious and most will approach people easily.
Highland Cow
The Highland is a Scottish breed of rustic cattle. It originated in the Scottish Highlands and has long horns and a long shaggy ginger coloured coat.
Sika Deer
The Sika Deer, also known as the spotted deer or the Japanese deer, is native to much of East Asia however has been introduced to many other parts of the world.
Goat
The goat or domestic goat is a domesticated species of goat-antelope typically kept as livestock. It was domesticated from the wild goat of Southwest Asia and Eastern Europe.
Jacob Sheep
The Jacob is a British breed of domestic sheep. It most commonly has four horns. The Jacob was kept for centuries as a “park sheep”, to ornament the large estates of landowners.
Huarizo
A huarizo, also known as a llapaca, is a hybrid cross between a male llama and a female alpaca. Misti is a similar hybrid; it is a cross between a male alpaca and a female llama.
Rabbit
A baby rabbit is called a kit, a female is called a doe and a male is called a buck. A rabbit’s teeth never stop growing! Instead, they’re gradually worn down as the rabbit chews on grasses, wildflowers and vegetables — meaning they never get too long
Miniature Donkey
These extremely small donkeys were originally used to turn grinding stones for grain inside peasants’ houses.
Black Sheep
Black Himalayan Sheep - Males are slightly larger than females. Dense coat is slate grey in colour, sometimes with a bluish sheen.
